Grrr… that makes me so mad! I managed to travel with a bamboo circular needle the other weekend. I would not have been happy to give that up!
Wonderful fingercrocheting though. :)

I’m so sorry you are having this trouble. How frustrating! Is this in Sweden that they are taking your needles? I have been knitting on airplanes for years. I usually start out in the States. I only carry circular needles, however (addi turbos) And I contend that a pen or pencil is a better weapon that an knitting needle of any size or shape.
Oh I love the tagging!!! Thanks for all the great photos.

I’m an American in Stockholm and I’ve seen some of this around… I had no clue what this was about. I love it! Is there any way I can join in on the effort? I crochet, and this is a great idea…

Some airport workers simply doesn’t know that (at least) in Norway, knitting and crochet needles AREN’T seen as a threath to security (and therefore not on the list of banned items), so the times that I’ve asked at the check in point if I’m allowed to take them on board, they always say NO (and I can but them in my suitcase before I send it away), but if I just take them in my bag and don’t comment them in the security check, I always get to take them with me. I even asked some security personel once, and they couln’t see any reason to take them away from me! That’s not just Norwegian inland flying either, I’ve knitted my way to both England and Italy!
